The closing date for all entries will be the 1st of April or when competition has reached capacity.
A panel of judges will be used to ensure genre specific judging.
Spectators are welcome to attend the event at no additional charge. (Each spectator will need an entry ticket into the Hawkesbury Show. Ticket prices can be found on the Hawkesbury Show website.)
A change area will be available for participants.
TROUPES - Entry fee of $15 per performer. Minimum of 8 performers.
SOLOIST - Entry Fee of $50 per soloist performer.
DUO - Entry Fee of $60 in total.
TRIO - Entry Fee of $70 in total
Each performer will receive a complimentary ticket to enter the show gates with their Entry Fee.
A $15 express post delivery fee will be added for all entries.
No refunds, transfers or credits will be given on any entry fees paid for any acts not performing for any reason, including medical reasons. Further consideration due to exceptional circumstances will be at the discretion of the organisers.
Should the event be canceled due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances, making the event not viable to re-schedule, all participants will receive a full refund.
Due to time constraints - Only one troupe entry per studio will be accepted.
Troupes must have a minimum for 8 performers.
Soloist competitors may only enter this competition once as a soloist however soloists may also participate in a duo or trio in the same division.
All performances have a time limit for 3:30 minutes per act. Any music going over this time frame will be rejected on submission.
Dancers are expected to perform in the order of the schedule, unless the stage or competition director grants special permission.
Unauthorised delays of the performance schedule will result in a 1-point deduction per judge and/or disqualification.
It is advised that all performers be ready to perform one-hour prior to their scheduled performance time.
Strictly only 1 performance per studio/team can enter troupe competition.
Soloists may enter 1 solo routine only.
Registration must be completed by studio directors or a designated representative for troupe entries. This will be at the sound desk before 6pm.
All entries and payments must be made when the entry form is complete.
All payments must be made in full and are facilitated using Stripe.
A schedule will be emailed to allow teachers and parents to make any changes prior to the designated cut-off date. Once the final program has been issued, no further changes will be permitted.
The Judges will be encouraging and fair. The Judges will offer valuable performance feedback to assist the dancer to improve their performance.
All participants will be treated fairly and respectfully.
Judges will be suitably qualified to judge the genre being performed.
Contestants will be judged by previously selected judges and all entrants agree that all decisions of those judges are final.
Judges Comments will be available to Studio Directors only and will be emailed the following week.
Scoring for each performance will be evaluated on the following elements: Technique - /20, Musicality - /20, Synchronisation (Troupe Comp Only) - /20, Entertainment Value/Audience Appeal - /20, Stage Use, Spacing & Formations - /20, Execution Of Performance - /20, Choreography - /20, Overall Appearance - /20
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 places and the Grand Prize of $500 to the first-place winner of the Solo, Duo and Trio comp and $1000 for first-place winner the group competition.
All music is to be submitted by the 20th of April. If music is not uploaded prior to the music deadline, the organisers reserve the right to remove the entry, assuming the act is no longer participating.
All performances are expected to set-up props in 30 seconds and remove props in 30 seconds. If prop set-up/removal exceeds these time limits, performances may be subject to a point deduction.
Any act that uses a substance that is not permitted and creates a safety hazard on the floor may result in a point deduction and/or disqualification.
Props are acceptable if they do not alter the surface of the floor and can be easily removed following the completion of the performance.
When sliding props or moving scenery, do not damage the dance floor. If the floor is damaged beyond repair, the studio owner/director will be responsible for the repairs.
Props must be able to be set up by teachers/students.
No smoking is allowed in the competition area.
The Ultimate Crown Showdown and the competition venue are not responsible for any lost property or injury to any persons attending the event.
Dancers perform at their own risk.
Spectators are expected to encourage and support all participants. Any teachers, dancers, parents, or spectators engaging in irresponsible behaviours may be asked to leave the event or be disqualified.
Performers must feel safe and valued. All teachers, dancers, parents, and spectators must always demonstrate good sportsmanship.
All performances must be age appropriate and family friendly.
It is at the sole discretion of either the competition director, or our judges, if a performance is too suggestive in either costuming, choreography or song selection.
In the event the performance is deemed unfit for the general public, the performer will be asked to cease, and points will be deducted.
In the interest of competitor safety, teachers must ensure children can execute any tricks, or skills they are performing.
Remember, a smile and a well done, goes a long way coming from a fellow performer or spectator.
The Ultimate Crown Showdown is required to comply with the New South Wales Government Covid-19 health requirements.
The Ultimate Crown Showdown will publish the latest requirements to all participants prior to the date of competition.
The competition organisers reserve the right to amend the running order after publication should it be required to comply with the Covid-19 requirements.
The competition organisers reserve the right to cancel the event for the protection of all participants in the event.
